Hey Everyone! I just noticed it has been almost a year since I posted last and I only have one post WTH. I had big plans for this site but what can I say… LIFE! But then I was thinking that if you want to accomplish anything… any of your goals there has to be some consistency whether that is saving money or losing weight or building a blog. LOL A huge part of being successful most of the time is just showing up to do the thing.
Before I go any further about this whole new year new money goals thing I’d really like to say there is a difference in saving money and not spending money. So, lets say I have a coupon for $1 off of a gallon of milk… that’s a dollar I didn’t spend but if I actually take that dollar and put it in my piggy bank or a real bank… then I’m saving that dollar.
Now it’s time to think about setting some goals… some to do with not spending and some to do with saving. Along with that idea… what is it that you want to save for? Are you into Dave Ramsey, are you working on your emergency fund? Or are you wanting to stop spending so much on energy drinks and take that money and go on a weekend getaway instead. Either way you need something that gets you excited about why you are saving money because that will keep you motivated.
I can’t stress enough that you need to have in mind what it is you want and where you want to be in X amount of time. Vision Boards really can make a difference and I will post about those another day.
By the way I’d like to add there is no “wrong” when it comes to spending the money you earn! Yes you should set yourself up for financial security but beyond that it’s whatever you like and I will post more on that in the future.
Here’s to 2024 may you consistently be better with your money whether that be digging yourself out of debt or increasing your savings account or both! I wish you all the best.
